Join Figma for Edu at Commons, a two-day virtual conference that aims to elevate diverse educator voices and inspire new ideas of what’s possible when people create together.

The schedule is full of tips, tricks, and talks on how to leverage Figma’s collaborative design tools to transform your classroom experience. Connect with Figma experts and other educators alike about everything from brainstorming workshops to building out your classroom in Figma—plus, hear firsthand from students on how Figma has transformed their career paths.

For accessibility, we will have ASL interpreters and English live captioning during the event. All sessions will be recorded and available on-demand.

Stop the yawns! Join Lilibeth Bustos Linares for a hands-on, collaborative FigJam workshop where you will build your FigJam skills and learn how to transform your lessons from meh to magical!

Step 1: How to setup your Figma environment

If you’re new to Figma, this is a great place to start. Christie Shin will share her tips and key principles for effectively organizing your Figma class environment, managing group work, and boosting collaboration between students.

Come for the knowledge, stay for the resources: join Matt Cram to learn how you can effectively use Figma to teach core graphic design principles and work on various print projects. Matt will also share some example projects and templates that you can use for your own class.

Prototype playfully

Join Miguel Cardona, Figma's Designer Advocate for Education, for an in-the-file workshop as he covers prototyping concepts and animation basics in Figma with an emphasis on iteration and play. He will cover ways to make prototyping activities more approachable for students, and share some workflow tips and tricks.
